goodmorning: while the lead sample technically sounds great for snes i'd be lying if i said it fit the song all that well haha. some more variety in the adsr on the chords in the main section would have been a nice touch too. otherwise v solid gotham city cathedral: good use of smw samples. ironically i think the weakest instrument here is the string; it just kinda hangs out there and feels a bit bland at times. would have liked to see some actual rhythm on that since it's already a remix k64boss: pretty good all-around. main complaint is some of the staccatos might be a bit too much. i think there might be a couple off notes too, though im not listening to the original alongside so i could be misremembering (and if they are wrong they sound fine anyway) mansion1: yeah the song choice itself isn't too interesting but probably one of, if not the best string arrangement i've heard on this platform. expertly organized operation: lead is a smidge too loud and the blips in the end part are v jarring. quieter and maybe softer adsr may have helped. (or maybe just a better sample). pretty decent other than that prepared_improvisation: lol. i knew from the second i decided to port this it was gonna be ultra controversial and wow look what happened. i just rly wanted to port it bc i love this shit. (heres the original for anyone curious: https://kamomesano.bandcamp.com/track/prepared-improvisation) Shifu_Robot: not really sure why but the squares feel oddly out of place. im p sure those are supposed to be different samples, and being the same one makes them kinda clash in a not so good way. another huge downfall is that the kick is wayyy too weak and so a lot of the energy from the original gets lost. this def feels more like a bad arrangement problem rather than a bad port. its on the right track but just has no FEEL in its current state TT: definitely loud. which is not necessarily a problem in some cases but it actually clips a few times and sounds pretty bad haha. aside from overall volume, there are a couple other mixing issues, for example the violin is far too loud compared to everything else. past that a pretty decent recreation zmm-final: lol yea obvious winner. def the best use of the 16k sample and v accurate to boot. only thing is the loop on the bell, as someone else pointed out, but that's extremely minor. great job
