Favorites Enjoyable Ambivalent Unfulfilling Not for Me Sockbat Replica: Overall this level felt like it was tossed together very quickly, and you can tell by the fact it was submitted on the first day. I'm not too crazy about the palette. While he was going for a Dark theme, the Colors he choose didn't go together very well. For the level design itself it was very linear and very short. I see that he was going for a bit of a challenge One or 2 of the jumps were completely unfair and forces you to take a hit. There is a fine line between hard and unfair and some parts crossed that Overall Rating: Unfulfilling Hardon: Sky Adventure With the level being a sky adventure, you sure seem to be on the ground a lot :P. A pretty decent level in general with a few iffy parts. I think this entry could of done better with some beta testers involved. There were a few instances where Mario could skip entire sections by moving across the top of the screen. I also ran it to a few area with blind jumps, one of them the led me directly into a large pit. There was also an area that had Pipes that led directly to level 0. Overall Rating: Unfulfilling Purple Rex: Found a issues with the Starting point and midway point make the screen jump when you first start. But other than that, no real issues that I found. While I did fine it a bit weird that the trees on some places where floating in the air the way they were, overall the level was pretty enjoyable Overall Rating: Enjoyable GammaV: Other than the few bits of cutoff scattered around the level, the level was very fun to play and I have no other complaints about it. A decent well planned level Overall Rating: Enjoyable Javier: A very flat and uninspired level imo. The palettes seem a bit off and judging by the mismatched green berries placed in the level, he didn't really quite care either. Overall Rating: Not for Me SilverSwallow: Great cave level, everything was laid out pretty well. No complaints here Overall Rating: Enjoyable DoopyBuckride: Good level design. He took a different approach and did multiple themes, which made for I nice change in pace. Overall rating: Enjoyable GLitchMr: Something from someone who I thought would do a lot better in this contest. Congratulations GlitchMr, you have created a new category for us. Overall Rating: Not for Anyone Sokobansolver: This level confused the hell out of me. Walls disappearing and reappearing again, and even having to take a hit to get out of an area I was trapped in. I don't mind doing puzzles, but that one was going a bit overboard. Overall rating: Not for Me Luigiman09: Besides the poor palette choice, poor placement of sprites, bad starting point and repetitive land masses with bad hit-boxes made the level seem empty and uninspired. Overall Rating: Not for Me Ladida:This level kinda strikes me as odd, but that doesn't mean that's a bad thing. The Kazio-ish type beginning and a few other areas that you have to maneuver around very tight spaces to not get hit in were a bad thing. It made it a tad bit less enjoyable for me Overall rating: Ambivalent KY2010: In the level, it mentions that he tried to make it feel very "SMW-ish", but I do not think he pulled it off well. It was however a fairly fun to play nonetheless. There was also the issue if the poor palette choice for the ice room. I know he was trying to give the cool icy feeling, but there are some palette you just should not touch when doing so. ie. sprites Overall rating Ambivalent notgoodwithusernames: I really loved this level. It was extremely creative with what he did with the rocks and the "Ground shaking". Great level design. Overall rating: Favorites AirMario: Good level design, but almost seemed a bit short to me. The bits of land are a nice effect, but feels overused. There were also some layer priority issues... Overall Rating: Ambivalent Morsel: This one wasn't too bad. But I ran across some blind jumps that could of been handled better and at the end, the horizontal moving platform disappears when you killed the last renzor. The amount of spin jumping required I also found a bit annoying, it could of used a few more "normal" enemies Overall Rating: Ambivalent Shog: Overall, its a pretty good level. The block eating section near the end was cool, but I feel you have to wait too long on certain sections. Regardless, it was a good level for both exit. Overall Rating: Enjoyable MagiLuigi: Great level with a good idea. I always liked flying Yoshi levels, but you could break this one too much by flying over the level for the first portion of it. A small little issue in one of the areas where I had to ditch Yoshi (shown in the zmv). Also some goofiness with the layer 2 and some of the sprites going behind it. Overall Rating: Ambivalent Aquamentus: A good level that fits that world 8 theme nicely. There seemed to be too much backtracking though if you picked the wrong door which was slightly annoying and took away from the fun Overall Rating: Ambivalent ShadowPhoenix: Great Level design, Feels like it should be one of the original SMWC levels Overall Rating: Enjoyably Yan: A great ghost house entry with a reasonable puzzle. I Enjoyed it, but there was a room near the end that had a horribly Ghost color palette, I think that could of been done better. Regardless, still a good level Overall Rating: Enjoyable THY: A Very enjoyable level Overall rating: Enjoyable Punk Sarcophagus: A decent level. A weird glitch in the Grey looking lava through me a bit off too seeing a koopa walking around it it, I attempted to see if Mario could too. It obviously didn't go so well. :P Overall I nice level that kept me on my toes Overall Rating: Enjoyable Mariofan22: A great level to play and I did enjoy it, but as a reminder, just because its a cave level doesn't mean Mario needs to work in tight spaces and there were a good amount of them here. Also the path to the secret exit was right near the end of the level which means I have to play through the whole level again just to check it out. When doing a secret exit, imo its best to at the most place it around the middle of the level. Overall Rating: Enjoyable yogui: This level seems very generic and boxy to me. Overall Rating: Ambivalent Levelengine: The level was generally pretty good, but was plagued by slowdown near the end. Overall Rating: Unfulfilling Hawthorne: It was a decent level but I felt the falling platforms got a bit too repetitive. Overall Rating: Ambivalent Dark Mario Bros: Its like you didn't even read the rules; asm, custom gfx, cutscene gfx, custom music. The level itself wasn't bad and had a bit of slow down in one area, but damn, you don't listen at all :| Overall Rating: Ambivalent (Disqualified) Mr. Blue Yoshi: An interesting level idea, but I feel the design could of went a lot better. Plus, the level was unbeatable and the Boo in the Final room never showed his face. Overall Rating: Not for me tjdtnsu: Overall the level design seemed a bit flat in some areas. Regardless this entry is disqualified. At the end of the normal route, a grey-ed out Switch as a walkthough background-type object when they are normally solid forground graphics Overall rating: Ambivalent (Disqualified) ShadowFire: A great level overall, though it seems a bit short. The the small cave area seemed a bit weird for only containing 1 power up. Regardless I enjoyed it. I felt like a real SMW level minus the Dragon coins. Overall rating: Enjoyable Blueleaf: The level was pretty fun and I liked with he did near the end with the upside down Mushroom platforms. I have no complaints here. Overall rating: Favorites Dakress: I really like this level. The overall ship theme worked out really nice and design fit perfectly. Overall Rating: Favorites Zmann: Not a bad level, though it has a few blind drop issues. Overall rating: Enjoyable Mariosyoshishade: I love the concept behind this level, but I don't think you pulled it off the best it could of been done. I actually feel like you gave too much time between the "cool down" spots and the palette wasn't the best of choices either. Overall rating: Ambivalent everest700:The level was pretty good, though I did find some floating grass and I felt you actually gave a bit too much time on this one and the main path was a bit short. The area where you have to feed Yoshi is a bit tricky since you don't have that much room to work with. Other than that, it was pretty good. Overall Rating: Ambivalent Carld923:A Great level overall. The level is pretty well laid out nicely and have no complaints about it. Overall rating: Enjoyable HyperMario: Nice level with a good challenge to it. Its a bit repetitive near the end with the two spaced land masses with enemies on them though, Overall rating: Enjoyable Archie: Great level design with some puzzles tossed in Overall rating: Enjoyable 1upDudes: Great level and I had a lot of fun with it. Overall Rating: Enjoyable ferrety: I really enjoyed this level, I think that only issue I has was the locations of some of the coins seems oddly placed to me and the ceiling in some places gave the illusion that something may be up a bit higher. The level also kinda seemed to linear; not pipes and secret paths anywhere. Overall Rating: Enjoyable Guinimo: Basic 105 and 106 edits that where mashed together and extended a bit. Also contained large areas of nothing-ness in some areas. And I total got myself stuck in the end due to the screen scrolling effect. Overall Rating: Not for Me Ripperon-X: Consists of a overly-long mole-riding section with some pretty hard jumps you almost have to take a hit for. Also you messes with Mario's palette and make his outline blue making him look really goofy. Overall Rating: Unfulfilling kenny: The level can be kinda hard in spots. There were a couple of jumps that just seems a bit jerk-ish to me Overall rating: Ambivalent PatPatPat: A Level of nothing but Chucks in tight spaces. Not the best combo in my opinion, but I will admit it was kinda fun bouncing around on their heads. Overall Rating: Ambivalent Undy: Great level overall, but damn that P-Ballon area. :P It think its the only issue I had during the whole thing. Overall Rating: Enjoyable TomPhanto: I'm not usually a fan of tight space levels, but this was was very fun to play an was pretty different from the rest Overall Rating:Enjoyable Snifit: This was a really good level that made use of a rarely used generator, and you pulled it off pretty well too. Overall Rating: Favorites PowerNewTop: The level design for this entry was a little iffy in some area, but the design around it was very unique. Actitvating a "black switch" and having to reenter the level was a very different idea and I applaud you for this. I very much Enjoyed playing the level. Overall Rating: Enjoyable Hobz: It was a great level idea overall, but the level was really too short and I felt you could of did more with the dimensions theme. Overall rating: Ambivalent EvilGuy: Pretty solid level design, I saw a sprite memory issue, near the beginning, but nothing too major. Overall Rating: Enjoyable chineesmw: An interesting level design that got kinda confusing at times. Unfortunately this level is disqualified. You edited the Ghost house platforms that you can normally stand on to something you can't which violates rule 5b. Overall Rating: Ambivalent (Disqualified) GloomyStar: This was a very well built level, and the secret exit was actually placed in a good spot. Most other entries make you play over the entire hack again just to get to the secret exit located fairly close to the original goal. This was a very fun level/ Overall Rating: Enjoyable Caraccs: An interesting idea, but the black and white theme could of been done better as it created some ugly looking background images. Also you screwed with some of the palettes making Mario change colors between some of the levels, giving it a weird effect. Level design itself was decent though. Overall Rating:Ambivalent Lemonade: Great level, great design. The sumo's seem to fit in well here. Overall Rating: Enjoyable FPZero & Teyla: Awesome level design. I feel you pulled this theme together very well Overall Rating: Favorites Hielus: The level it self wasn't too bad, but it lacked variation of enemies. Overall Rating:Ambivalent Koopster: Level design was good I felt there should of been more enemies besides ghosts and koopas. Overall Rating: Enjoyable Egadd: I felt kinda confused with this entry. Right after the midway point, you enter a pipe (which has cutoff by it) and seem to enter in a new area where you could go either left or right. Going left lead me to a dead end, so I don't know why that was there Overall rating: Ambivalent bokunes: The level design here was really flat and boring imo. Also, the rule say only 2 exits maximum. You had 3 including the side exit area, which unfortunately disqualifies you. :/ Overall rating: Unfullilling (Disqualified) FrankyC253: A lot of tight jumps and the final door leads to level 0. Make sure to always beta test you hack. Overall Rating. Not for me K1ngHacks: There were a few issues with this, the music settings were incorrect, so the song started over every time you entered a different section. The Sprite tilemap settings could of easily been fixed near the end and they weren't. Also it seemed rather short. The level design is self wasn't too bad. Overall Rating: Ambivalent BurstMan: I really like the idea behind this level, unfortunately, that are some part that just weren't planned very well. Picking the wrong path pretty much means instant death; you don't realize its the wrong path until its too late. The bonus room with the podobodos and cape had a sprite memory issue, and some of the Dino Coins are to hard to reach even if you know they are there. Overall Rating: Ambivalent Jonny: Overall it was pretty good, but the lack of head room made for a fake difficulty I didn't care for. Overall Rating: Ambivalent RealMarioGamer: The level gets beaten the moment I enter it. I don't mind easy level, but that's a bit ridiculous. o_O Overall Rating: Not for me TheSecretExit: Some minor cutoff in some places. The level design wasn't too bad, but is was weird you didn't use and "?" blocks. Overall Rating: Enjoyible Amida: THe level design was pretty poor imo. I didn't like the fact you had to ditch Yoshi, there were sprite memory issues,, you spammed the "?" block to be used as ground and I couldn't even complete the level cause I killed the jumping piranha plant. Overall Rating: Not for Me Mariocool1999: The general design for this level was good and I really enjoyed it. Overall Rating: Enjoyable Ragey: I really like this level. Everything was placed really well. The only complaint was that some of the swoopered were off screen and made them kinda come out of no where. Other than that, it was pretty good. Overall Rating: Favorites Someguy: A Magi Koopa level is not one you see all that often, using it can be a double edged sword. On one hand, when your big Mario, you can get through the course fairly easily, but when you are stuck as Small Mario, the course get much harder and longer because you have to wait for the magikoopa to clear your path. Overall, I think you did ok with it. Overall Rating: Enjoyable findoku29:It's a Kaizo level. Go away. Overall Rating: Not for anyone Daizo Dee Von: Tight spaces with chucks. I cannot say how annoying that is. The rest of the level was pretty good though, but the tight spaces and the required precise jumps, just didn't do it for me. Overall rating: Ambivalent Neosaver: I liked the level, good level design and everything plays out well. Theme fits pretty well with the resources given. Overall Rating: Enjoyable DPhoenix:I liked the idea of the level, but the palettes on the mushrooms and Koopas were all screwed up and ther eseems to be a lot fo powerups. No real complaints other than that. Overall rating: Enjoyable Poloros: The design behind this isn't too bad but I did find a Bad initial start point in one of the area to the boss exit, and some slow down in other paths that in turn brought my ranking down a bit on this. Overall Rating: Ambivalent Oh Hell No: A good level, that kinda reminds me of Doopys entry with the multiple themes. I think you merged these together very well. Overall Rating: Enjoyable Masterlink/MaxodeX: There were 1-2 area I didn't care for as you had to work off screen a bit to get up higher toward the boss room, and the spring board on the bottom row seemed a bit off near the beginning, other than that, it wasn't too bad. Overall Rating: Enjoyable 678ruby678: I couldn't get this ROM to load up for the life it me. Next time make sure you test your level before submitting it Overall Rating: Not for Me (Disqualified) Lui37: A nice haunted pier level. The combination of this turned out really well. Level design was pretty solid also, but 1-2 of those dragon coins were a bit too hard to reach with out getting hit, making them not even worthwhile to grab Overall Rating: Enjoyable Sinc-X: A very fun level.I enjoyed the main path a lot. The Secret path was a tad bit harder, no complaints there other than that annoying fishing boo at the end, lucky you don't have to deal with him for very long. Overall Rating: Enjoyable tatanga: A Very challenging level that requires precision jumping skills. The "Bowser blocks" unfortunately breaks rule 5b. Overall Rating: Unfulfilling (Disqualified) Pikerchu13: I don't mind challenging levels, but this one was ridiculous. Tight spaces, and precision jumps just doesn't do it for me. Overall Rating: Unfulfilling Noel/GN: I liked this entry, but it almost seems like there is just oo much going on near the beginning. I really liked the layer 2 falling section most. Overall Rating: Enjoyable Luigitime: That had to be the glitchiest level I've seen in a long time, I don't know what you did to some of the tiles, but it wasn't a very good idea. There was a section of the underwater level I could skip completely by just swimming over it. I will admit the large pipes looked kinda cool, but that was about it. This entry is also disqualified for using the Bridge nets and a climbable object, which breaks rule 5b Overall Rating: Not for Me (Disqualified)
