The second half becomes confusing since I couldn't stop thinking the player could fly with that cape since he was big, though nice use of the Lakitu in the water. The floating water gimmick is awesome, mainly in the main level since it also rises there. Aesthetics are really well done, and overall the level is fun to play. I didn't really like how constant the wave effect for the foreground was though, and making the grinders line guides invisible felt a little unfair. ---------------------------------------------------------- IDidMakeThat - Crismonwater Cave ---------------------------------------------------------- RATING: Poor COMMENTS: It was mostly okay, but you made the sublevel be really annoying and almost pointless - it wasn't worth go through so many enemies just for an extra life. I kind of like what you did with the water though. ---------------------------------------------------------- JaphethMario21st - Dead Sea ---------------------------------------------------------- RATING: Good COMMENTS: A really nice level - I like the enemies' reskin and the scenario. While the sublevel is somehow "the same", I like how the boos were better obstacles to avoid with the P-Balloon, though I'm taking you points for some of the boos disappearing and hurting the player out of nowhere. I like how the rising water gimmick becomes different at the last section, and the custom sprites added were a nice addition. Other than that there isn't much going on in the level, it was kind of boring, but not in the range of terrible (design-wise). ---------------------------------------------------------- Lazy's Entry ---------------------------------------------------------- RATING: Excellent COMMENTS: The medium autoscroll made it quite challenging at times, but I had fun with this. I like this transition of normal to darker ground, as well the background becoming orange. The enemy reskins were a nice touch as well. It's less interesting than the original and sometimes frustrating, pretty much in the second room where you can get hit out of nowhere by a falling spike and the fact the POW won't appear unless you backtrack the level a bit. ---------------------------------------------------------- MercuryPenny - The Sunken Temple ---------------------------------------------------------- RATING: Poor COMMENTS: It felt empty most of time and boring to go through when you didn't have something to carry. It also feels the level hates big Mario at some spots. It's okay but it's nothing special. I'm giving it a rating lower than "Good" because some of the boo ring placements were just unfair - the one that hits you even if you're on the ground and you have no choice but wait get hurt waiting the water rise, and the one on the pipe at the end, although that one is more doable since you get a feather before that. ---------------------------------------------------------- msi810 - House of Illusions ---------------------------------------------------------- RATING: Terrible COMMENTS: I wonder what made you think it was a good idea to make Layer 1 objects invisible until we hit a message box - it'd have been a way better gimmick if it appeared when you pressed a POW o something.
